#3: "Attachment to the Mundane"

"The inspiration behind this piece was wanting to continue a series I had done in 2020 while at the same time continuing the dialogue about social media. In our everyday lives, we have made the same pose as I have drawn here as we look at our phones. When covid hit, it felt like social media was a scapegoat for us dealing with the real world. As Covid has shaped and impacted the world, we have become more "glued to the phone" instead of looking up around us. As the subject is hooked to the phone, it merges with him as that is the only thing of importance. This piece begs the question; how do we step away from our phones and enjoy the world around us?"
